Gregory Lind // Off the Shelf: Mass-Market Multiples

A collection of objects designed by or featuring the work of artists. A change of pace for the gallery, the space is full of such a wide range of objects from an equally wide range of sources, ranging from limited edition towels available at Art Basel to record covers featuring the paintings of Richard Serra and Ed Ruscha. Its hard to walk in and not find yourself coveting this or that thing – the kid in me wished it could play with both the Frank Stella designed toy car, the Keith Haring radio and the Gilbert and George rubiks cube - but this is not a garage sale of a couple’s excess (nothing is for sale). Rather, it’s a celebration of these soaps, shoes, totes etc., mostly institutional money-grabs but regardless a way to bring a little work by those artists one admires always from afar.
